The Central Bank of Tunisia expects the economy to grow by 3.2 percent in 2025, driven by strong performance in the tourism and agriculture sectors, along with an anticipated improvement in phosphate production.

The Bank’s estimates showed an expected growth in industrial activity of 3.3 percent, following the government’s announcement months earlier of new investments in the phosphate sector worth 164 million euros.

Tunisia aims to increase its annual production of phosphate to 8.5 million tons per year, and to 14 million tons by 2030, as part of a plan to regain its position as one of the world’s leading exporters of this vital material after years of repeated unrest in the mining basin and production disruptions.
